I have an iPhone, iPad, Macbook Pro, iMac, and several AppleTVs. I love Apple products, but I can't say I disagree with this assessment. Apple has been leaning harder and harder on simplicity, but that simplicity has changed over time to obfuscation. They aren't the only ones doing this, but they are perhaps the most influential in leading others toward these problematic design tendencies.
Quite plainly, the Cintiq sucks in comparison.
This answers all my questions but one: can the iPad Pro can be used as a Cintiq replacement when connected to a Mac and/or PC? That is, if I want to work in Photoshop—real Photoshop—can I hook in and get all the benefits of the iPad, but now controlling a stronger machine? If I can, game over.
Web publishers and advertisers cannot be trusted with the amount of access that today’s browsers give them by default, and people are not obligated to permit their web browsers to load all resources or execute all code that they’re given.

Throughout the next couple years, Google improved its video hangout service and added smart, algorithmic photo-editing and search features, the latter of which earned plenty of praise, but did little to improve the overall reputation of Google+.
Google+ was destined to fail from the outset. It's interesting to read what Google was thinking when they made their play on social media and telling that it was a forced effort, rather than a natural growth as with their other projects.
Without the logos, could you tell which companies own which screenshots? Does it matter? The pattern’s become its own trademark. Just one of the popular yet mediocre ones plaguing modern screen-based design.
No matter your feelings about ads, it’s reasonable to be worried about and want to block sites that have no business—literally, it’s none of their business—tracking you, and to be angry at those feeding us malicious software and trying to coax our secrets from us. Some balance would be nice. Without it, readers will continue to take matters in their own hands.
